Poilievre’s support falls to 18% as Canadians increasingly choose literally anyone else
Support for Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre as Canada’s next prime minister has fallen to a record low of just 18%, according to a new Nanos poll, suggesting Canadians may have finally confused politics with employment.
The survey found 54% of Canadians now prefer Prime Minister Mark Carney, while the Liberals have opened a commanding 15-point lead over the Conservatives, leaving Tory strategists to once again explain that every poll showing them losing is evidence they’re actually winning.
Party officials insisted Poilievre remains deeply popular among the voters who matter most: people convinced every institution is corrupt right up until it tells them what they wanted to hear.
Conservatives say the numbers will rebound as soon as Canadians remember they’re supposed to be angrier than they are informed.
