Alberta Separatists Furious Experts Keep Introducing “Facts” Into Debate

, , , ,

Alberta’s separatist movement reached new heights this week after several men whose legal expertise comes entirely from Facebook memes explained that dismantling a G7 country is “actually pretty simple.”

Political scientists say the movement has become a near-perfect case study of the Dunning-Kruger effect: the less someone understands about constitutional law, Indigenous treaty rights, trade agreements, or economics, the more certain they become that Alberta can declare independence sometime between a convoy rally and a Monster Energy break.

Asked about Section 35 rights or the Clarity Act, supporters reportedly responded with either blank stares or accusations of “fear mongering,” which they define as “information we don’t like hearing.”

Meanwhile, questions about passports, NATO membership, border control, pipelines, and whether Calgary would immediately attempt to flee Alberta itself were dismissed as “details.”

Experts confirmed the movement’s central governing philosophy remains: “We’ll figure it out,” a strategy historically associated with failed startups, backyard fireworks accidents, and raccoons trapped in vending machines.
