Or Hillary. Or maybe Soros.”
Powell, appointed by Trump in 2017, has frequently been the target of the ex-president’s rants, particularly when interest rates rise or reality intrudes. “He’s raising rates just to hurt me. It’s personal. Very ungrateful for someone I didn’t appoint,” Trump said, before pivoting to a detailed theory involving fluorescent lights and inflation.
Aides reportedly tried reminding Trump of the appointment but were met with a blank stare and a demand for Diet Coke.
