In a bold display of legislative efficiency, House Republicans have announced a full-scale investigation into Wikipedia, accusing the free online encyclopedia of “organized bias” against conservatives. The move comes after lawmakers noticed that pages on climate change, January 6, and basic biology contained what they called “a suspicious amount of facts.”
“Americans deserve neutrality,” declared one congressman, “not this liberal agenda of ‘reality’ being shoved down their throats.” He went on to suggest that Wikipedia editors are part of a vast left-wing cabal, likely headquartered in a Brooklyn coffee shop with suspiciously high Wi-Fi speeds.
Critics, however, argue the probe is just another taxpayer-funded tantrum, with one political analyst noting, “It’s the first time Congress has been upset about something people under 30 actually use.”
Meanwhile, Wikipedia editors shrugged, citing their eternal motto: “If Republicans don’t like it, they can start their own encyclopedia. Oh wait, they already did, it’s called Facebook.”
