Poll Finds Canadians Rewarding Premier Who Doesn’t Spend Every Week Inventing New Ways To Embarrass Province

A new Angus Reid poll has crowned Manitoba’s Wab Kinew Canada’s most popular premier with a 62% approval rating, largely because he keeps committing the increasingly rare act of governing without making headlines that require constitutional scholars or criminal lawyers to explain.

Kinew recently humiliated Alberta Premier Danielle Smith by publicly reminding her that treaties and Indigenous rights aren’t optional side quests. He then rejected a proposed AI data centre, correctly guessing most Canadians aren’t eager to sacrifice their water supply so a chatbot can generate six-fingered families and confidently plagiarize Wikipedia.

At the other end of the rankings sits Ontario’s Doug Ford at 21%, a number experts say is impressive considering it still includes people who answer every poll with “Leave me alone, I’m driving.”

Researchers say the survey confirms Canadians have begun confusing basic competence with charisma after nearly a decade of being governed by cautionary tales.
