“How can I survive?” Man paying $2250/Month rent plans to vote for landlord worth $25 million

“I just think that immigration has gotten out of control,” said Gord Staples, 27 “I can barely find a third job to cover my rent.” After almost graduating high school in 2015, Gord joined the workforce as a Sandwich Artist for an international chain. Working nearly 35 hours per week he was easily able to afford a room in his parents basement. As the years carried on in his role progressing to Assistant Manager in 2018, and later Jr Assistant Manager in 2019, before finally being upgraded to Essential Worker in 2020.

But where tragedy struck for the world, opportunity bloomed for Gords parents. “We took an early retirement” Said Sheila, a former teacher and Gords mother “the timing was just right, and with our pensions, and mortgage paid off, we could afford to take an early retirement, as long as we increased Gords rent”. Gord added in a shift of driving for Skip The Dishes after work in order to make ends meet. On an average 6 hour shift of driving for skip, Gord earns an extra $37 per night, more than enough to make up for the increased rent from his parents.

“We’re looking to take an extra vacation this year and it just doesn’t seem like we can afford it with how much Gord is making,” Says his father, “and with all these immigrants that Justin Treudeau let in, I just don’t see him getting another job. How can we afford to take this trip?”

The Carbon tax is also digging into Gords savings. “I’m getting back $280 every 3 months, but the increase is costing me dozens of dollars a year – how can I survive?” We asked him to explain the math further, but he seemed to give up in frustration before hitting his vape and muttering about immigrants taking all the math jobs. “All I know is that once we vote for Peter Piper, or whoever, everything is getting a million times better and I can finally get that 3rd job. I’m nearly falling behind on rent as it is” Said Gord as his parents put their arms around him to comfort him. “If my parents can go on vacation, I might be able to bring a girl over. That’s why I’m voting conservative this time. To make things better.”
