“This time I promise” Canada was on track to elect Pierre Poilievre till Trump
In January, you could stop any random person on the street and ask who they thought should be Canada’s Prime Minister and you would have gotten the same answer, “Not Justin.” Polls backed this up showing the Liberal party, under Justin Trudeau, was on track to lose the majority in most provinces and, eventually, the election. Then things changed. The Prime Minister, at the time, Justin Trudeau paused the government and announced he was stepping down. Followed by the inauguration of current American president Trump, and finally Mark Carney becoming the new Liberal leader and de facto Canadian Prime Minister. Fast forward to April and the new poll data shows the situation has done a 180 and Pierre Poilievre, and his Conservative party, are on track to lose seats in this upcoming Canadian election.
“I told you I promised I would be a big boy,” Poilievre wined at a Canada First rally held in Edmonton Alberta, “And I told my friend that the liberals have been hogging all the seats in the house of commons and that it wasn’t fair! My American Girlfriend, who is not made up, said I would be the best at telling people what to do!”
Even though the defense attorney had instructed his client to be quiet, he would not sit still in his chair and could be heard more than once pleading to his brother in the gallery, “Please Mario, they are trying to give me the chair, you gotta do something! Mamma Mia!”
