From Informant to Informed-On: Johnson’s Trump Story Collapses Instantly

, , , , ,

In a moment that left even seasoned political watchers wondering if C-SPAN had accidentally switched to satire, House Speaker Mike Johnson briefly claimed that Donald Trump had been a heroic “anti-Epstein informant.” The suggestion painted Trump not as a golf club mogul with a Palm Beach address suspiciously close to Epstein’s, but as a covert whistleblower bravely working against the billionaire sex trafficker.

Unfortunately for Johnson, the story unraveled faster than a budget resolution. Reporters quickly noted that no evidence existed, unless you counted Trump’s own fond memories of “liking Jeffrey, but not as much anymore.” Within hours, Johnson retreated, insisting he’d been “misunderstood” and that critics were taking him “literally.”

Observers were left to wonder whether Johnson had stumbled into the conspiracy echo chamber or simply confused Trump with a character from Law & Order: SVU. Either way, the attempt to launder history left his credibility hanging out to dry, without a plea deal in sight.
