Alberta Separatists Vow to End Foreign Interference Just as Soon as Americans Finish Explaining How
Alberta separatists have intensified their campaign to free the province from foreign influence, apparently after checking with some Americans about how best to do it.
Recent reporting has documented connections between Alberta libertarian organizations and the U.S.-based Atlas Network, including people and policy ideas that later found their way into Premier Danielle Smith’s government.
Separatists insist Alberta must escape distant outsiders meddling in its politics, especially the intolerable kind originating east of Lloydminster rather than south of Coutts.
“We will never allow foreigners to dictate Alberta’s future,” explained one fictional supporter, carefully closing seventeen browser tabs titled HOW TEXAS WOULD DO IT.
The movement is now reportedly developing a distinctly made-in-Alberta vision for independence consisting of American political ideas, American think-tank connections and hopefully American assistance.
Because nothing says Alberta First quite like outsourcing the “Alberta” part.
