Carney More Popular Than Smith In Alberta, Province Immediately Blames Carney

, , , ,

According to the Angus Reid Institute, Prime Minister Mark Carney now enjoys a 46% approval rating in Alberta, beating Pierre Poilievre at 41% and Premier Danielle Smith at 39%; a result experts are calling “statistically significant” and the Alberta government is calling “probably Ottawa’s fault.”

The numbers represent a particularly brutal milestone for Poilievre, whose popularity has hit an all-time low despite spending years perfecting a political message specifically engineered for people furious at Mark Carney.

Smith, meanwhile, now finds herself less popular in her own province than the Liberal prime minister she routinely presents as an existential threat to it.

Political analysts say the results suggest Albertans may finally be growing tired of perpetual grievance politics.

The province is expected to respond by blaming Carney for that too.
