Treaty Chiefs Call For Treason Investigation After Alberta Government Accidentally Checks Every Box On National Collapse Bingo Card

Leaders representing Treaty 6, 7, and 8 First Nations have formally called on the RCMP and Auditor General to investigate Premier Danielle Smith and members of the UCP government, arguing that Alberta politics has now advanced beyond ordinary incompetence and entered territory typically reserved for failed states and history documentaries.

The chiefs are asking federal authorities to determine whether the government’s actions could meet the legal threshold for treason, after a series of sovereignty fights, treaty disputes, privacy controversies, and foreign influence concerns left observers struggling to remember which country Alberta is currently attempting to separate itself from.

According to the chiefs, the treaties established a relationship in which the Crown and the North-West Mounted Police promised to maintain peace, honour agreements, and protect the land.

By contrast, critics say the modern Alberta government appears committed to testing whether every constitutional safeguard in Canada can be triggered simultaneously.

The RCMP has not announced an investigation.

At press time, UCP officials were reportedly insisting that accusations of treason were just another example of Ottawa’s unfair habit of noticing things.
