Alberta Separatists Devastated To Learn Most Dedicated Patriot Was Just Guy Chasing Facebook Pennies

Alberta’s independence movement was thrown into crisis this week after discovering one of its loudest online supporters wasn’t an Albertan freedom fighter, but an Indonesian content creator who had simply identified “Canadian political collapse” as a profitable niche.

For months, the account posted emotional stories about gathering signatures, being harassed by federalists, and bravely defending Alberta from the tyranny of remaining attached to roads, pensions, and a functioning currency.

The posts generated thousands of reactions from Albertans, many of whom assumed the author was a fellow citizen and not someone sitting 12,000 kilometres away wondering why Canadians become feral whenever the words “equalization payments” appear.

Experts say the discovery highlights the dangers of social media algorithms that reward outrage regardless of truth.

“It’s depressing,” said one analyst. “We’ve reached the point where foreign influence operations have been outsourced to people who don’t even care enough to influence us properly.”

At press time, hundreds of Albertans were sharing a new viral post warning that Ottawa planned to replace Calgary with a bike lane.
