“Historical Curiosity” Defense Used as Swastika Flag Spotted in MAGA Congressman’s Office

A swastika flag seen hanging in the office of Rep. Buckley Harlan (R–TX) has ignited outrage, confusion, and what staffers are calling “a teachable moment about symbolism.”

The congressman, a proud member of the “America First Freedom Caucus,” initially claimed the flag was “a vintage artifact from a World War II reenactment,” before clarifying that “it’s actually just something my uncle left me.”

When pressed about the optics, Harlan doubled down. “People are too sensitive these days,” he said, adjusting an eagle-topped lamp behind him. “It’s about history, not hate, besides, it matches the décor.”

Democrats condemned the display, while several Republican colleagues privately called it “unfortunate but on brand.” Meanwhile, interns were reportedly seen replacing the flag with a “Don’t Tread on Me” banner, only to realize the snake was coiled into a suspiciously familiar shape.
