Reporters, left in the room awkwardly pretending to check their notes, caught snippets like, “We’ll just put it through Eric’s company – nobody looks there,” and, “Tell the PAC to invoice the wedding venue.” One producer was heard whispering, “Did we just hear a major crime happen?” before a staffer lunged for the power cord.
Within minutes, the feed went dark, and campaign officials issued a statement clarifying that Trump was merely “role-playing a hypothetical scenario about ethics.” They added he has “always been passionate about integrity, even when accidentally demonstrating the opposite.”
