Trump Becomes First President in Over a Century to Miss NAACP Invite; Nation Somehow Survives

, , , ,

In a historical snub that shocked absolutely no one, Donald Trump has become the first U.S. president in 116 years not to be invited to the NAACP’s annual convention. The civil rights organization, which has hosted every president since Theodore Roosevelt, opted to break tradition this year by not inviting the man who once suggested a Black congressman’s district was “rat-infested” and called white supremacists “very fine people.”

A spokesperson for the NAACP said, “We considered inviting him out of habit, but then we remembered… everything.”

Trump, when reached for comment, said he wouldn’t have gone anyway, claiming the NAACP “used to be classy” but had “gone woke.” He then mistakenly congratulated them on their “great ratings” on Netflix.

Historians are calling the move “unsurprising,” while comedians are calling it “the NAACP’s greatest act of self-care since 1909.”
