Premier Danielle Smith is crossing her fingers for the Oilers to bring the Stanley Cup back to Alberta as she has announced a bet with Prime Minister Mark Carney that if the Oilers win, he’ll pay for the Oil pipelines across the country. Putting her own reputation on stake Smith has promised if the Oilers lose, she’ll shut up about the pipeline for 2 whole weeks.
A long debated project, a cross Canada pipeline would be a huge win for Smith, and literally dozens of billionaires across North America. Carney is excited at the outcome of the upcoming series stating that while he knows the pipeline would do a lot of economic good for the country and bringing the Stanley Cup home would be an amazing achievement; he’s truly excited at the prospect of “2 weeks without that f*cking nagging”
