Former banker, now Prime Minister Mark Carney is facing a different kind of public scrutiny after a photo of him at Vancouver’s Pride parade went viral, specifically, the rear view.
The snap, showing Carney mid-stride and in a suspiciously enthusiastic pose, has ignited social media like a drag queen at a finance seminar.
“Guess he is comfortable with inflation,” one Twitter user quipped, while another noted, “That’s the most movement we’ve seen from a Liberal in years.”
Carney’s team brushed off the buzz, insisting he was “just celebrating love, equality, and well-fitted polyester blends.” Critics, however, questioned whether the moment was calculated. “It’s the first time he’s looked relatable, or at least squeezable,” said one commentator.
Either way, Carney may have finally united Canadians… under the banner of memes.
