Autumn most years is stuffed with major anticipated video game titles, fighting to be at the front of the pack and win your gaming dollars; but 2025 is shaping up to be different. When you look at the announced release dates for games between the months of September, October, and November it’s like a ghost town as a massive shadow looms large over the Game Industry: Grand Theft Auto 6 or GTA6 for short.
“We are going to get murdered,” a Senior Executive from one of the major publishers, who would prefer to remain anonymous, lamented on the phone during an interview BSN had earlier today. “It’s going to take all the money, kinda like when Big Smoke places that order at Cluckin’ Bell.”
“We all feeling like Roman, trying to find a dumpster to hide in, and hope that a small game like ours doesn’t get whacked,” worried Warren Smith, lead designer for indie game series Call of Battlefield of Honor: Assassin Ghost Rainbow, “It’s going to be a Massacre, like we are trying to defend it as this GTA6 hooligan comes into our territory to steal the few dollars we make each year. It’s really not fair.”
